Making the Switch to Microsoft Office 2007

I created an eBook for anyone thinking of switching from their current version of Office, to Microsoft Office 2007. Is that you? Please read on...

Are you about to move to Microsoft® Office 2007?

Are you a Microsoft Office user who is thinking of trading up to the new version? Here are the three most important concerns people have about upgrading:

Point_1 Compatibility – Will I be able to work with files created in earlier versions of Office? Will others be able to work with my new files?
Point_2 Learning Curve – How long will it take me to learn the new version of Office (specifically, the new user interface)?
Point_3 Price – How much is the software going to set me back? Will I need to upgrade my PC?

Read what others are saying about my new eBook:

“In a nutshell, the ebook is fabulous. It is jam-packed with helpful information, there are screen shots of each program to illustrate his points and loaded with resources. He talks about everything from the concept behind Microsoft® Office 2007 to compatibility issues to all the new features now available. He even has a section in the appendix with tips for speeding up the learning curve!” Read more...

For the last two years, since its beta (test-phase) release, I've been working with Office 2007. I have to confess: I didn't like the new version at first! But then a number of things happened to change my mind. I read a couple of books on the subject, and I worked on two meaty projects involving Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, and Microsoft Office Word 2007, respectively.

And now I've created something that will help you if you're seriously considering moving to this new version of Microsoft Office. I'm excited to announce the availability of my new eBook: Making the Switch to Microsoft® Office 2007!

Please note: this eBook is written for existing (or new) Microsoft Office users who are considering upgrading to or purchasing Office 2007; it is not a "how to" on using Office 2007. While it does have tips, tricks, screen captures, comparisons to Office 2003, and even a few basic commands you can use, it is not meant to teach you how to use Office 2007.

How my eBook can help you

As I said above, I've already spent two years working with the new version of Office (focusing on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Why not take advantage of what I know, add it to what you know, and make a more informed decision about upgrading your software.

Are you a visual person? Some of my screen captures will show you what it's like to work in the new programs. Did you know that Microsoft had a very defined approach–a concept–they followed when developing this version of Office? The Ribbon is the key feature of the new user interface. You may not appreciate it; but you'll need to know how to use it. I discuss the Ribbon, and illustrate it, throughout the eBook. Perhaps the one thing stopping you from upgrading the fact the familiar menu and toolbars have disappeared in the new version. No problem! There are a number of workarounds for most commands, and I talk about those too.
